Slovanet
Slovanet is the largest alternative telecommunication operator and internet service provider in Slovakia. In 2006, this position was supported by its prestigious rankings in e.g. TREND Top Telecom or by its international recognition in Deloitte FAST 50 Central Europe.
Slovanet provides a wide portfolio of telecommunication services and complex solutions in all customer segments, from households through SMEs to large companies and institutions all around the Slovakia.
In last years, Slovanet successfully integrated a number of significant companies from the field of infocommunication technologies operating in the Slovak market. The history of Slovanet is closely connected with its predecessors, such as Podnik výpočtovej techniky Bratislava (PVT Bratislava, a.s.), ViaPVT joint stock company being its successor, or PSG, a.s., the internet provider.
In November 2005, Asseco Slovakia, a.s., a supplier of complex IT solutions for banks and insurance companies, as well as building savings and health insurance companies, became a new shareholder of Slovanet. The transaction was definitely closed in January 2006 upon the approval of the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic.
