Slovanet strives to offer and provide the best and most advantageous products in the services segment, evidence of which is the increase in the number of customers in 2014. Their number at the end of the year reached 68,000 for the first time. The acquisition of the PO-MA cable television network in Banská Štiavnica and its 2,000 customers contributed to this increase. Slovanet assumed all customer care activities for customers in Banská Štiavnica and opened a new branch office located at Ludvíka Svobodu 13 in the city. -

Slovanet implemented the Safe Schools project for the very first time to motivate students at both levels of primary schools to take a deeper interest in information technology and to help schools create a safe environment for students at school. A total of 24 contacted schools participated in the program, creating more than 270 projects. The three schools with winning projects received attractive prizes including a camera system, free Internet service and other material gifts. -

One of Slovanet's major projects was the introduction of Internet service for 65 communities in Central and Eastern Slovakia within the government program to support Internet service coverage for rural areas in the so-called white spots on coverage maps, i.e. locations where no operator has yet delivered widely accessible broadband Internet service. Slovanet was able to construct a connection for one new community on every working day in cooperation with subcontractors in the period from August to December 2014. -

One of Slovanet's goals in 2014 was to ensure the operation of all required activities by reinforcing staffing levels and securing on-going employee education. The standing of the Wholesale Sales Unit in the Sales Department was strengthened and the team at the monitoring centre and technical support for corporate customers also were expanded. The company's workforce continues to grow and currently stands at 226 employees. This is nearly twice the number of employees 10 years ago when Slovanet employed only 122 employees. -

The company's total revenues increased year-on-year at their highest ever rate, by 45%, reaching €52.567 million, thereby also breaking through the 50 million Euro mark. A number of large one-off projects were largely responsible for this increase in 2014 but Slovanet also achieved growth in other areas that are the most important for telecom operators, specifically revenues from regularly provided services and long-term contracts. -

Slovanet focused on measures leading to a continued increase in the focus on customer needs and satisfaction in 2014. The expansion and training of teams in the retail Customer Service Department and sales managers for the corporate segment as well as improved support for indirect sales channels were only some of the steps that were taken. Slovanet introduced new records for outgoing calls in the retail segment in the second half of the year (7,526 calls) while customer centre operators handled 57,817 incoming calls. -

Slovanet rolled out a unique discount system with the InterStore online store in November 2014. Everyone connecting through the Slovanet network automatically received discounted prices from this online store than shoppers using other operators. Slovanet customers had the opportunity to shop for over 230,000 individual items in the e-shop at favourable prices. -

Slovanet delivered the new free-of-charge Zelená vlna mobile application in cooperation with RTVS in October. Application users receive regular traffic updates, information on police patrols, accidents and other local traffic information. Users in Bratislava, Banská Bystrica and Košice can also take advantage of the camera images taken from important intersections and traffic critical areas in their cities. Zelená vlna is among the most downloaded mobile applications on the market with more than 60,000 users. -

Slovanet gained more than 14,500 new retail clients in 2014. This means that approximately 58 new contracts were signed every working day on average in 2014. -

Slovanet's cloud:LINK line of cloud solutions is capable of saving up to 15% of overall costs and indirect savings from operating and administrative costs. A good example is Slovanet's ITAPA-award winning project to modernise IT systems for the city of Skalica. -

Slovanet is dedicating increased attention to exploiting LTE technologies within its development activities to deliver clients with higher quality and faster Internet service using household wireless connections. Slovanet concluded the selection process and technical test operations of LTE technology in the 3.4-3.8 GHz band in 2014. Opportunities for preparing commercial products utilising LTE technology will be identified in the coming year. -

Slovanet is environmentally conscious. Clients now have the option and are encouraged to transition over to electronic invoicing. The number of clients using this service increases every year and now stands at 82.7% of all clients.
